Google

Google has a new universal privacy policy taking effect March 1. You probably received an email or notification (or six) about it already. The policy mostly simplifies the rules of what Google can do with your data across its many, many services, but it also makes one thing really clear: either you’re cool with Google, or you aren’t.

If you like the idea of advertising being finely tailored to your tastes and interests, of Google services trying to guess what they can help you with, then you’re all set. But if you’re either specifically concerned about Google having some rather particular details about you, or more generally about having all your personal data eggs in one basket, you definitely have alternatives. And they’re not the kind of alternatives that require a beard, a cabin, and jars filled with liquids of disconcerting provenance. Around the time Google introduced their social offering called Google+, they started an exercise of bring together all their products and services. They started with redesigning all their products to bring in visual uniformity. They also introduced Google+ integration in YouTube, Gmail, Google Reader and more.

Now it has brought about a convergence of 60 different privacy policy into a singe one. Well on the surface it looks a lot better for Google users, as a single privacy policy can actually be read and understood and not reading through several ones.

Michael Bolton vs the Isley Brothers

The Isley Brothers isn’t as well known a name as Michael Bolton, but unfortunately for Mr. Bolton, they share a song with the same name and some of the same lyrics. The Isley Brothers song was released in 1966 under the name “Love is a Wonderful Thing, Michael Bolton’s song was released in 1991.

A suit was brought against Michael Bolton by the Isley Brothers for allegedly lifting parts from their original song of the same name and in 1991 Despite Michael Bolton and the co-author of the song’s argument that there was insufficient evidence supporting the jury’s findings, the district court found in favor of the Isley Brothers and left the largest award in history for plagiarism in the music industry intact. The Isley Brothers were awarded 5.4 million dollars, the calculation based on sixty-six percent of past and future royalties. (Also taken into account was twenty-eight percent of the past and future royalties of the album Time, Love and Tenderness as Love is a Wonderful thing is contained within that album).

Internet Saftey

I think That Internet saftey is about how to be safe on the internet and using common sense. One of the most important things about internet saftey is dont give out any personal information such as first and last names, address, phone number, etc... Another important thing you should never do is talk to someone online that you dont know or you THINK you know. One last thing that i learned is you cant trust ANYONE with you prsonal information, except for a parent or guardian. One thing that i think i can approve apon on the internet is to not make so many passwords for different websites because people could easily guess that password and get into your account and get a bunch of your own personal information that u may not want them to see.

FEED READERS

• Google Reader is very similar to the reader I just created. I don’t think the reader I just created is any different than Google Reader. If there is any difference, it would be the look them. I like Google reader because I’m used to it. I don’t really like the new one because I am not used to using it. That’s about it. My findings were ipod’s, games, weather, and Pandora. My favorite thing would be ipod’s because I like to have mobile internet wherever I go.
